Ep 90 - Living Outside the Box

In the words of the Backstreet Boys, what makes you different, makes you beautiful. This is definitely the case for our next guest, Sarah Agboola. As a woman of colour growing up in country NSW, Sarah always knew she was living outside the norm. But, by embracing her uniqueness, she was able to say no to the traditional path and become the thriving entrepreneur she is today. Tune in to today’s episode to hear how Sarah grew comfortable with being different and how she harnessed this to create an impactful business. Sarah Agboola is the founder of m-Time and on Smart Company’s 30 under 30 list.

Sarah Agboola

Imagine if you could get 8 hours of your time back. Imagine if you just had someone to help support you at home, look after your children, and even run errands for you.

This was what Sarah Agboola fantasised about when she was charged with taking care of her younger sisters in the aftermath of her dad’s passing. When she later spoke to dozens of parents who were spreading themselves thin, Sarah knew something had to change.

Fuelled with a desire to help people when they needed it the most, Sarah bit back her fear and created m-Time, a business that gives busy parents their time back by matching them with Mconcierges family assistants who provide at-home support.

Besides creating a successful startup that parents everywhere are praising, Sarah also dedicates her time to help create opportunities for young people in rural and regional areas. She is currently on the board of directors at the Foundation of Young Australians, which is all about backing the next generation of young people who are going to rethink the world.

In this episode, Sarah shares how she grew comfortable with being different, how she builds great relationships, and the challenges of starting mTime.
