Marita Cheng
After growing up with a single mum, Marita Cheng was sure of one thing: women can do absolutely anything. This lesson became the catalyst for everything she set out to achieve. The first? Revolutionising the robotic space.
Although engineering and computer science are predominantly male disciplines, Marita knew that with just a little determination, she could challenge this status quo and empower women everywhere to excel in robotics and engineering. This led to her starting Robogals, an international non for profit organisation that aims to increase female participation in engineering and technology.
Since then, Marita has continued to go from strength to strength by co-founding Airpoly to help the blind and visually impaired, and aubot, an innovative company that builds robots to help us in our everyday lives. Marita has also been named one of the World’s Top 50 Women in Tech by Forbes.
