Like left and right, salt and pepper and Batman and Robin, rejection and entrepreneurship unfortunately go hand in hand. A painful right of passage for all trailblazers, rejections can leave you with unwanted feelings of self-doubt and frustration. The important thing is to take these setbacks in their stride and accept they’re all part of the ride.
This week’s guest is well acquainted with rejection — at one point of her entrepreneurial journey, she was receiving multiple rejections every week, for months on end. Wenmiao Yu had plenty of days where she felt like giving up on her co-founded company Quantum Dice, an Oxford University spinout that specialises in encryption through the use of quantum technology. But in the end, the Forbes 30 Under 30 Lister decided not to, and in the process, proved a valuable point to us all — that entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint.
