Ep 217 LONDON TOUR - Co-Founder of Caulibox on Sustainable Growth
Have you ever felt burnt out, peers? It’s an easy trap to fall into. Giving too much of yourself, or blaming yourself for failures completely beyond your control.
When you’re ambitious, like this week’s guest Josephine Liang, it’s hard to find time to unwind. Which is just one of the reasons it’s so crucial to… go to parties! Not just to unwind, according to Josephine, but to find the people who will become your support network along your business journey.
In this episode of Peers2Peers, powered by Shopify, Josephine Liang Co-Founder of CauliBox discusses how her multicultural background has informed her quest for sustainability, as well as experiencing burnout in some of her previous enterprises, and ultimately the importance of doing what you love with the time you’re given.
Josephine Liang :
Working for sustainability is a slog. It’s difficult to make consumers change their behaviour, but it’s not impossible. The trick is to communicate with empathy and to profoundly dedicate yourself to the cause. Given the dedication it demands, it’s no surprise that the final guest of the London Podcast Tour has struggled with burnout. But as Josephine Liang explains, burnout can provide an opportunity to stop, focus on yourself, then come back ready to assess what you’ve learned.
And it was drawing from the learnings of her previous ventures that Josephine was able to co-found CauliBox, a service which provides “circular packaging”, a sustainable alternative to the disposable containers used for takeaway food and drinks. The marriage of Josephine’s dedication to creating a better world, and her background as a food waste and sustainability campaigner allowed her to create a venture she could pour her enormous passion into, for the benefit of the planet.
