Ep 103 - How Stepping Back Actually Pushes Us Forward
It’s tempting to act like we’ve got it all together. But, swallowing our pride and admitting ‘I don’t know,’ can be the very thing that propels us forward. In this episode, Julie Hirsch reveals how we can step back and learn from others, and how we can get clear on our mission. Julie Hirsch is the co-founder and COO of Eloments Organic Vitamin Tea and a Forbes 30 under 30 listee.
Reality check, peers. Sometimes our ego can get the best of us, and admitting ‘I don’t know’ feels harder than our worst failures.
But as our next guest reveals, the only way to grow is to admit we don’t have all the answers.
While attending high school with 900 other classmates can be intimidating, Julie recognised that she was actually surrounded by 900 opportunities to flourish. Instead of shying away from the gaps in her knowledge, Julie embraced the value of stepping back and leaning on the expertise of others. This ultimately helped her master how to step up with her own ideas; a skill which carried her through university and across the globe to Melbourne, Australia.
Now, Julie is the co-founder and COO of Eloments Organic Vitamin Tea – the world’s first 100% natural vitamin tea company. Since launching the company, Julie has been honoured on the Forbes 30 under 30 list and was named Victoria’s Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 2020.
